Tell Me 3 Things….

  • I teach theatre.
  • I died one time. (I was ran over by a hay trailer.)
  • I’m somehow related to William Burke, the famed Edinburgh serial killer.

5 Questions

  1. Who’s your favorite character from all the books you’ve read?

I really like Sophie from Howl’s Moving Castle because she really changes throughout the story. She’s unaware of her own power at first, but her confidence grows. Also, she subverts all of the fairytale character tropes!

2. What is something you always look for in books?

If the characters are well-developed, believable, and relatable then I’m sold. If I don’t believe the character, I can’t believe the story.

3. Do the covers of the books matter to you?

I know they shouldn’t, but I’ve bought way too many books based on the cover alone to say that they don’t. I will say that some of the best books I’ve read had covers that were too old and worn to even fully visualize.

4. Do you prefer cooking or baking?

It really depends on what I’m making. Like, I enjoy frying up some eggs because it doesn’t take long, but I also enjoy making Cowboy Cookies because they are delicious and making them is super messy.

5. Who’s your all-time favorite author?

I really don’t have a favorite. I like Taylor Jenkins Reid and Riley Sager more than most, but Neil Gaiman stole my heart a long time ago.

    1. Thank you so much 🤗 I was writing this next to a friend and asked him what the most interesting fact about me is, and he immediately said, “Uh, didn’t you die one time?” I probably never would’ve thought to write it otherwise. 😅

Can’t wait to read your answers! ❤️🐝

  2. Congrats on the nomination! Ooh! Do you enjoy teaching theatre? I’ve always secretly wanted to do theatre but I’m too shy to get on the stage. Thanks for the nomination! I’ll definitely answer the questions but it might be a while. I’m on a backlog of posts and am on hiatus!
    Loved reading your answers 💙

    1. I love teaching theatre! It’s been a weird year for it, though. I’ve worked with a lot of people too shy to get on stage. Some start out helping backstage and love it there, others realize the blinding lights hide the audience and end up on stage anyway 😂. It’s actually one of my Davy things about teaching theatre—there’s a place for everyone!

I look forward to reading your answers when you’re back from hiatus. ❤️🐝

  3. Sorry! I’m so late but congrats on the nomination!

I love most of TJR’s books. The only one I haven’t read is Forever Interrupted. Ran over by a tractor! 😰 That sounds terrifying!

I love theatre but I’m too shy to get on stage! It’s so cool you get to teach it! Thanks for nominating me! 💙
