Top Ten Tuesday: Resolutions/Hopes for 2021

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. This weeks topic is the most anticipated releases for the first half of 2021. I’m going to try and put them in chronological order based on publication dates.

I’m not going to lie, I almost skipped this one. As a general rule, I don’t make New Year’s Resolutions. It’s just not in my personality. I am, however, trying a few new things, so I will talk about those.

30 Day Yoga Challenge

I’ve done a couple of 30 Day Yoga Challenges over the past 2 months, and I’ve found another one by Julie Marie that is free to Amazon Prime customers. This time the practices are longer and slightly more advanced, but I’m about 5 days in and enjoying it so far. You can check out the videos I use here if you want.

Embroidery

That’s right, I’ve started embroidering because my goal is to be a 90 year old woman in a 30 year old body. Seriously, I have a friend from college who started embroidering to make stuff for her kids. She recommended it to me, and it is a testament to how well she knows me that I have actually enjoyed it. here’s a picture of what I made over the holidays:

(I have since finished it). If you’re interested in the ones pictured above (which I’m going to be working on ASAP) you can check out the set here.

Writing

I’ve written a couple of novels, and now it’s time to actually sit down and edit them to the point where I think they’re worthy of catching an agent’s eye. I’ve always wanted to write novels as I enjoy writing almost as I enjoy reading, but editing my own work is not always enjoyable. I’ve mentioned before my distaste for re-reading things. Re-reading something I’ve written is even harder, apparently.

Vocal Training

Not singing every day has really taken a tole on my vocal quality. I have no excuse. I share an office with a choir teacher! I’m going to start at least doing vocal warmups each day and see where that takes me.

Bible in a Year Podcast

I’m listening along to Father Mike Schmitz’s podcast as he reads a few chapters from the Bible each day. I’ve read the Bible all the way through, but the the way he’s doing. Also, I’ve never read the Catholic Bible all the way through, so I’m looking forward to learning. Here’s a link for more information.

Reading (Obviously)

There are so many books I want to read. Here’s to a literary 2021!

Family

As always, I want to carve out more time with my beautiful family.

These are my goals, I recon. What are your’s?

  1. Great list! I also need to work on getting my TBR down (theres definitely some that’s been there for more than two year! Oops.) and good luck with your embroidery! I try it too (if not very badly) and we are very cool 😎 I’d already done this prompt in another post so I had a go at my top ten favourite albums lol. You seem like you’d have good taste in music, what are yours? Here are mine 😊 https://hundredsandthousandsofbooks.blog/book-bloggs/
