What a happy, sad book. A wonderful story about family, love, loss, and dealing with life in a world where you don’t feel like you belong. The characters were so interesting. I found myself cheering for them and crying for them. At times the sisters and brother just want to be “normal” but their magic draws people to them as well as repels others. Because of an ancestor’s love for a man who first loves her and then destroys her and so many others there is a curse on those in the family that fall in love. Can the curse be broken? You will have to read to find out and if it can’t discover what horrific events await those unsuspecting souls.
I highly recommend The Rules of Magic and can’t wait to read Practical Magic.
