Fiction, Lists

Kayla’s October Wrap-up

I did not make a TBR list for this month because I really didn’t think I’d have much time for reading. However, I finished more books than I thought I would. I know it’s not many compared to many book-bloggers, but I’m pretty proud of my haul.

Home Before Dark

This was my first spooky masterpiece from the month, and I found it surprisingly enjoyable. It made me squirm a couple of times, but it really wasn’t that scary.

We All Die in the End

This was my literary read this month, and it was amazing. Truthfully, it is one of the few short fiction collections that I have read cover to cover–it was SO worth it. If you’re a fan of Flannery O’Connor or James Joyce, you’ll love this read!

Mexican Gothic

Mexican Gothic, by Silvia Moreno-Garcia

This was my second spooky read for the month, and it was more than I bargained for. Maybe it was my attachment to the main character, but I was actually spooked by this one.

Deadly Education

I didn’t think I would get the chance to read this one this month, and I technically finished it on November first. That said, I’m so glad I read it even if I do have to wait until July for the sequel.

Winter Counts

I did not intend to read this during October. It was on my November shelf, but then I read the first page and I couldn’t stop. Hands down one of the best thrillers I’ve read this year. I’ll get the review posted ASAP. You won’t want to miss this one.

What do you think of my haul this month? Are any of these books on your list?
