The End of the Year Book Tag

I picked this tag up from Kristin Kraves Books. If you don’t follow her blog, you really should.

I’ve only had this blog a few months (feels like longer) so I’ve never before done this tag.

Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?

I’ve been listening to the audiobook for this super hyped book. So far I like it, but I’m only about 130 pages in. I keep trying to figure out why everyone is so attracted to Henry. I’ve only known the man for a few pages and he’s been hit on by more women and men than I have in my whole adult life, and I’m not exactly a slacker. I like the character, but I just find it hard to believe that any one guy is everyone’s ideal guy.

Do you have an autumnal book to transition into the end of the year?

Not really. I’m not a big seasonal reader. I’m the type of person who likes to read beach reads in the dead of winter.

Is there a new release you’re still waiting for?

It’s coming in my book of the month box! I’ve already mentioned this one here on the blog, but in case you missed that post, this book is a modern retelling of Jane Eyre set in Birmingham, AL.

What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?

These are the three ARCs that I need to finish by the end of the year. I’m actually pretty excited about them, so I hope they’re worth the hype my mind has given them.

Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favourite book of the year?

This book was recommended to me by a reader. I read the first few pages on the Amazon preview and fell in love with the writing style. I cannot imagine that such beautiful prose could be disappointing, so I’m really looking forward to this one.

Have you already started making reading plans for 2021?

I plan to read the Throne of Glass series and to re-read the Harry Potter series with my little ones. Otherwise, I have no set plans. I’m sure I’ll come across some ARCs I’m interested in and Book of the Month always keeps me on my toes.

  1. Omg, adding ‘The Wife Upstairs’ to my reading list. That storyline sounds so intriguing.
Also adding ‘Dearest Josephine’ to my list – such a beautiful storyline.
    So glad to these recommendations.

Reading HP with your kids – that sounds so perfect. 😍

    1. I just got the illustrated Harry Potter books in the mail the other day, and they are beautiful! I had to have my husband hide them from me so I wouldn’t open them before my children get to open them on Christmas.

  2. Your answers were so much fun to read!!! I love what you said about Henry, hahaha 😂 I haven’t read Addie LaRue yet but I agree, everybody seems to be in love with him… I’m excited to see what all the hype is about when I finally pick that book up! Ooh, good luck with Throne of Glass! That series looks seriously intimidating and I’d love to know if you enjoy it. Great post, and thanks so much for the tag ❤️
