Good morning readers!
I recently read this tag over on Abby’s blog, @BeyondtheRead, and I just had to participate. I have several other tags I’m planning to do soon, so I’m going to try to tag all of my book blogging friends at some point.
The tag was originally created by ReadingGirl on YouTube, and you can check out her video here.
WHAT FICTIONAL FAMILY WOULD YOU LIKE TO SPEND CHRISTMAS DINNER WITH?
Easy. I’d want to spend Christmas with the Weasleys. They seem lovely. Honestly, who wouldn’t want to spend Christmas with this happy little wizard family?
A BOOKISH ITEM YOU WOULD LIKE TO RECEIVE AS A GIFT?
That specific boo light would be lovely, thank you. It’s called the Lamborghini of Book Lights, so It must be special.
A FICTIONAL CHARACTER YOU THINK WOULD MAKE A PERFECT CHRISTMAS ELF?
Okay, work with me here. Post Christmas Carol Scrooge would make a fantastic Christmas elf. He’s holly, he’s jolly, he treats every child as nephew and niece, and he’s pretty free with his money. Yes, please allow Scrooge to join Santa’s band of merry little helpers. Thank you.
MATCH A BOOK TO ITS PERFECT CHRISTMAS SONG.
Um, “I’ll be Home for Christmas” would go with this, right? I mean the whole story is about the dwarves finding their way back home to the Misty Mountains, so it would be the perfect Christmas song for them! Now, can we start a petition to get Richard Armitage to record his own cover of this song?
BAH HUMBUG. A BOOK OR FICTIONAL CHARACTER YOU’VE BEEN DISAPPOINTED IN AND SHOULD BE PUT ON THE NAUGHTY LIST?

Humbert Humbert from Lolita should not just be put on the naughty list, he should be thrown in jail! I don’t care how pretty his writing is. Lock him up and throw away the key.

I’m so sick of all my English teaching friends being in love with Heathcliff. He is awful. Heathcliff should be thrown off a cliff. I can hear some of you saying, “But, Kayla, he suffered for love.” Yeah? Well, he kinda brought that suffering on himself. Put him on the naughty list, Santa.
A BOOK OR A FICTIONAL CHARACTER YOU THINK DESERVES MORE LOVE AND APPRECIATION AND DESERVE TO BE PUT ON THE NICE LIST?
Did you really think I was going to do a book tag and not talk about Howl? When has that ever happened? Give my favorite wizard some love.
RED, GOLD AND GREEN. A BOOK COVER THAT HAS A WONDERFULLY CHRISTMASY FEEL TO IT.
A BOOK OR SERIES YOU LOVE SO MUCH, YOU WANT EVERYONE TO FIND UNDER THEIR CHRISTMAS TREE THIS YEAR SO THEY CAN READ IT AND LOVE IT TOO?
I am confident that even my non-reader friends would love this one. It’s probably my favorite book I’ve read this year.

Ahh I love your answers!! The cover of In a Holidaze is indeed very festive — I’m tempted to pick it up just for how pretty it looks! Great post, and thanks for the shoutout! ❤️

Excellent! (And I totally agree with you re: Humbert Humbert…the reason I positively despise that book and always have.)

Same! The book is beautifully written, so I understand its literary value. I just can’t like a book with such a disgusting protagonist.
