The Book Recommendations Book Tag

For this week’s Book tag Thursday, I found this tag over at Amy’s blog, The Fangirl’s Opinion. I just had to try it out!

Rules

  • Tag Ally @ Ally Writes Things so I can see your recommendations!
  • Give at least one recommendation for each of the prompts below
  • If you don’t have a recommendation, talk about a book you want to read
  • Tag your friends

A Book About Friendship

I think this book has been on every list I’ve made, but honestly it deserves my praise. It’s arguably more about family that friendship, but I think it counts for both.

Buy Midnight at the Blackbird Cafe: A Novel

A Translated Book

The Chestnut Man by Soren Sveistrup has been on my list for a while now. It’s won so many awards, but it’s a heavy book. I simply have not had time to finish it.

Buy The Chestnut Man: A Novel

A Diverse Romance

I don’t read a lot of romance novels, and I’m honestly not sure this one counts. However, it was a great book, and I strongly recommend it.

Buy Crazy Rich Asians

A Fast-Paced Book

Girl on the Run is the very definition of fast-paced. More importantly, it’s fun! I’m a huge fan of this one.

Buy Girl on the Run (Underlined Paperbacks)

A non-fiction book (not a memoir)

You knew I was going to pick true crime, right? I’ve only recently finished John Douglass’s classic, but it is definitely one of my all-time favorites. Look for the full review on Monday!

Buy Mindhunter: Inside the FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit

An Underrated Memoir

All Over But the Shoutin‘ is not underrated, but it is one of the few memoirs I’ve read.

Buy All over but the Shoutin’

A Book With Fewer Than 10,000 Ratings on Goodreads

I LOVED this YA Fantasy. How on earth does it only have 699 ratings? Ya’ll better read this book.

Buy The Iron Raven (The Iron Fey: Evenfall, 1)

A Book With a LGBTQ+ Protagonist

I recently sat through a YouTube review of this book in which the reviewer stated that the book was just about “straight white people.” While I agree that there is a disappointing lack of people of color, I feel like I should remind the world that Addie is notably bisexual and Henry is pansexual. I feel like they are both well-defined characters and great representations.

Buy The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue

A Book By a Trans/Non-Binary Author

The Merry Spinster: Tales of Everyday Horror by Daniel Mallory Ortberg is one of the few short story collections I’ve read, and it is fantastic!

Buy The Merry Spinster: Tales of Everyday Horror

A Book with More Than 500 Pages

Everyone has read these, right?

Buy A Game of Thrones / A Clash of Kings / A Storm of Swords / A Feast of Crows / A Dance with Dragons

A short story collection

We All Die in the End: Scenes from a Small Town by Elizabeth Merry is amazing!

Buy We All Die in the End: Scenes From a Small Town

A book you want everyone to read

Have you read Daisy Jones and the Six? You should. You really should.

  1. There are so many books here that I’ve never even heard of! And the fact that Daisy Jones & The Six, Addie LaRue and Crazy Rich Asians are on the list is a promising sign for the other books 🤗 And thanks so much for the tag! It’ll probably take me forever to get to it, like always (😁😅), but I’m really looking forward to it!

  2. I’m so glad you decided to do this tag and I loved reading your answers! Crazy Rich Asians has been on my TBR for ages, I just rewatched the film and now I want to read the entire series! Daisy Jones & the Six is another book I still haven’t read, looks like I’m going to have to add it to my April TBR! Great post! 🥰✨
