Kayla’s up for an Award!

Okay, in fairness, I should have posted about this a week ago, but I’ve been a little busy with everyone in my family contracting COVID before getting it myself.

Before I signed with my agent, I turned the first few pages of my novel in to be judged for a contest. The other day, not long after receiving the phone-call confirmation that my four-year-old had contracted COVID, I received another call from that contest informing me that I am a finalist!

Is it a big deal in the grand scheme of things? Probably not. Does is give me the confidence boost I need to keep writing? Yes, it does.
