Becky reviews Lillian Boxfish Takes A Walk by Kathleen Rooney

5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for this delightful story. It’s a walk down memory lane for a spunky 84 (actually 85 but she has never told the truth about her age) woman who was a trendsetter and groundbreaker in the world of advertising. She became a published poet for her snarky take on love, family and motherhood. During New Year’s Eve of 1984 she literally walks through New York City past her old haunts and meets some very interesting people along the way. It’s not a coming of age story because Lillian has been there done that! It’s a remembrance of what was, is and hope of what is yet to come. Just because you are 84 (really 85) doesn’t mean there isn’t more life to live! I loved Lillian and wish I could take her out to dinner just to hear her share her words of wisdom and some of that wisdom comes from personal tragedy. I want to thank Kathleen for giving us this lovely well written story that is actually based on the real life woman, Margaret Fishback. So, “let’s take a walk”.

Perfect book mark for this delightful book!
