I found this tag on Leslie’s blog, Books are the New Black, and I couldn’t resist! I’m a pretty big 80’s movie buff, so I’m quite excited for this one.
A BOOK THAT KEPT YOU UP ALL NIGHT
Okay, so this one kept me up all night simply because it freaked me out! It’s all true crime, so that made it scarier than my typical thriller. For the record, it’s so much better than the Netflix show.
A WONDERFULLY QUOTABLE BOOK
A CHARACTER WHO LOVES BREAKING THE RULES
Robin Goodfellow, aka Puck, is the original rule breaker.
A BOOK COUPLE THAT TOOK AN ETERNITY TO GET TOGETHER
I really can’t say anything without spoiling the whole book. Just read it. It’s good enough that I can say that.
A BOOK INVOLVING TIME TRAVEL
Not necessarily in a literal sense, but I really wanted this one on the list.
Buy Dearest Josephine.
A CHARACTER WITH A UNIQUE STYLE
There is a dance scene that really makes this one stand out.
FAVOURITE BOOK INVOLVING TRAINING/MENTORING TROPE
I can’t remember which book started the mentoring relationship, but I like it because it’s different than any other mentoring relationship I can think of.
A BOOK WITH A TRIP THAT DOESN’T GO TO PLAN
I feel like any trip in a Riley Sager novel is doomed from the start.
A BOOK WITH THE CENTRAL CHARACTER’S NAME IN THE TITLE
Still think this book is over-rated, and the central character is actually pretty selfish. Unpopular opinion: if Henry’s name was in the title, I would have enjoyed this more.
A FEMALE CHARACTER WHO COMES OUT OF HER SHELL
Margot doesn’t just come out of her shell, she comes right out of her mind and kicks abuser butt!
Buy The Companion.
A DEATH THAT TOOK YOU BY SURPRISE
I can’t tell you what death surprised me because it would spoil the whole book.
AN ENDING THAT LEFT YOU BOTH HAPPY AND SAD
Did you really think I was going to make a list without including this one? Honestly, that’s just not possible.
I’m tagging everyone who’s reading this!
