This book is magical. It is nothing like I have ever read before. It was such an interesting book. The transformation of Orquidea throughout her life was emotional. This beautiful, strong little girl carried the stigma of her birth that she had nothing to do with. She wanted the love of two people, her mother and her first husband, more than anything and they simply couldn’t love her enough to accept her. So she made a deal with a river monster and another spectacular entity who does offer love and creates a most spectacular gift that will save the entire Montoya family including a resurrected Orquidea.
